Our Philosophy
We are advocates for strong, happy marriages and families. We believe that many of society's problems, and specifically the challenges facing children today, can be attributed to the disintegration of marriage in our culture. Our mission is to help create, support, and preserve successful marriages.
We believe successful marriages are the backbone of a highly functioning community, and a significant influencing factor in the development of healthy, happy children. We are convinced that all marriages can be magnificent, and that any marriages can be saved regardless of the problems being faced. Not only can your marriage be salvaged, but both partners can fall deeply in love again.
Love is the cornerstone of a great marriage. We all deserve and need to love and be loved. And, there is no safer place to express love than in a highly functional marriage.
Our goal is to decrease the divorce rate by helping married couples stay together because they are genuinely committed, in love with each other, and feel fulfilled and happy. It is not our goal to encourage couples to remain together and live miserable lives! Everyone deserves to be in a great marriage, and we can help you achieve it.
Most couples experience marital unhappiness because:
- they no longer have feelings of love for each other
- they have stopped fulfilling each other's primary needs
- they lack self-awareness about how their beliefs, attitudes and behaviors affect their relationship
- they lack basic relationship knowledge, tools and skills
In THE most important area of life most couples are completely unequipped for success.
Our ground-breaking Couples program "Rekindle The Promise" provides couples with the information and tools they need so they can return to the feelings of love and commitment they experienced on their wedding day. Our process works for all couples, whether they are in good marriages, or on the verge of break-up. We can help you re-vitalize THE most important relationship in your life. You are worth it.
A Note About Children
Most first born children are born to single parents and many children will spend time in a single parent household. Children from single parent homes have more behavioral problems, are more likely to drop out of school and become involved with illegal substances. Many live at, or below the poverty level, and many experience high divorce rates when they become adults. Many have never seen a good marriage role-model.
If you have children we know you want to give them the best foundation to live a happy, successful life. Your own successful marriage is that foundation. There is no greater gift we can give our children then to be an excellent role model. You have a unique opportunity to do just that.
A Note About Common-Law Relationships
Our programs are not just for married couples. However, we believe that a committed marriage is the foundation for a long-lasting relationship. By its very nature, a common-law relationship does not carry the same level of commitment as marriage and therefore is easier to walk away from.
The co-habitation rate has increased by over 1200% since the 1980s. This indicates that more couples are entering "trial" marriages to test out the relationship before they make a long-term commitment. These couples fear making a mistake. Unfortunately over 85% of common-law relationships break up, which means that testing a relationship doesn't result in a better chance of staying together. In fact it is a good predictor of relationship failure! This is a major concern since many common-law couples have children together - and because of the high failure rate of these relationships, the likelihood of those children growing up in a single parent family is so much higher.
We want to arm all couples with the tools and skills to create great relationships, and preferabley equip them to make good choices that lead to having successful marriages.
